Service & Technique

What is the difference between Screen Printing (Plastisol) and Digital Printing

Screen printing with Plastisol ink is the industry standard ("the OG"). It is known for its extreme durability, vibrant opacity (even on dark fabrics), and resistance to fading. It is ideal for larger runs and brands looking for that classic, heavy-hitting feel.

Direct to Film (DTF) and Direct to Garment (DTG) are digital processes. They are best suited for smaller runs, highly detailed images, or designs with many colors (like photographs). If you have complex artwork or a low quantity, digital is the way to go.

Can you match my specific brand colors?

Absolutely. For screen printing, we use the Pantone Matching System (PMS Solid Coated) to custom-mix inks. We target these codes to ensure your branding is consistent across all media. Please note: If specific PMS colors are not requested, we will use our standard stock colors that closely match your design.

What is Simulated Process vs. CMYK printing?

These are advanced screen printing techniques used for photorealistic or multi-colored images. CMYK uses Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black to mix colors on the shirt (like an inkjet printer). Simulated Process uses a specific set of spot colors to create blends and depth. Both allow for high-end, detailed imagery on large production runs.

What is the difference between Standard and Puff Embroidery?

Standard Embroidery is stitched flat against the garment and is timeless and durable. It’s perfect for polos, bags, and hats.

Puff Embroidery (3D) uses a foam underlay to raise the stitching, creating a relief effect that is tactile and bold. Note: Puff requires specialized digitization and is a more labor-intensive process.

Do you offer finishing services like neck tags or bagging?

Yes. We call this "The Missing Link" to retail readiness. We offer folding and bagging (with size stickers) for easy organization. We can also remove manufacturer tags and print custom neck labels with your logo and sizing, giving your product a fully branded, professional finish.

Do you offer Promotional Products beyond apparel?

Yes. We are a full-service branding shop. We can produce everything from banners, flags, and trade show displays to hard goods like tumblers, keychains, pens, and stickers. If you can put a logo on it, we can likely source it.

Artwork & Files

How should I prepare my artwork for print?

Your final product is only as good as the artwork you provide. For the best results, please follow these guidelines:

  • Vector Files (Preferred): AI, PDF, EPS, or SVG. All fonts and lines must be converted to outlines.
  • Raster Files: PSD, PNG, or JPG. Must be 300 DPI at the final print size.
  • Submission: Please email all art files to ohgeeink@gmail.com

Can I provide my own embroidery file?

Yes, but with a caution. We accept .EMB (Preferred) and .DST files.

  • Important: If you provide a .DST file, we cannot make modifications to it. We will stitch it exactly as provided, and OhGee Ink takes no responsibility for the quality of the output.
  • Recommendation: We offer in-house digitizing. This allows us to test the file and ensure high-quality output before running your project.

Do you offer graphic design services?

We are production specialists, not a design agency, so we do not create brand identities from scratch. However, if you have a rough concept or sketch, we offer professional art services to clean up your design, vectorize it, and bring it to life for print (prices vary based on complexity). For customers who need a full brand build or logo design from the ground up, we work with a network of trusted creatives and are happy to provide a referral.

Ordering & Policies

Do you offer Wholesale Pricing?

Yes. We offer wholesale services for businesses and clothing brands. Please provide a valid Resale License to qualify for wholesale accounts.

Can I supply my own garments?

Yes, you may supply your own goods. However, please be aware that OhGee Ink is not responsible for misprints or damage to customer-supplied garments. We highly recommend providing extra pieces to account for potential spoilages (setup samples, misprints, etc.).

What is your Spoilage / Damage Policy?

We are artisans working with hands-on processes, not robots. While we strive for perfection, a manufacturing allowance is industry standard.

  • Spoilage Rate: We have a spoilage/damage allowance of 2% per order (or roughly 3 pieces).
  • Garment Defects: We try to inspect goods before printing, but manufacturer defects (holes, stains, tears) are beyond our control and are the responsibility of the manufacturer.

How does the proofing process work?

We require all proofs to be thoroughly checked by the client before production begins. This includes reviewing spelling, colors, dimensions, and placement.

  • Digital Mockups: Please note that digital mockups are NOT to scale. They are for visual reference only.
  • Responsibility: OhGee Ink is not responsible for errors or omissions once a proof has been approved.

What are your color tolerances?

We hand-mix inks to target PMS codes, but variables matter. Since we are printing on fabric (which has texture and dye lots) rather than white paper, slight shifts in color can occur. Colors may also vary from how they appear on your computer screen versus the final printed ink. We aim for the closest possible match within professional industry tolerances.
